Coventry City FC are known as The Sky Blues after the traditional colour of their home shirts. From 1899 to 2005, the team played at Highfield Road which became the first all-seater stadium in English football at the end of the 1980s. Coventry City moved to 32,000 capacity Ricoh Arena in August 2005.

Coventry City were founding members of the Premier League in 1992 and spent 34 consecutive seasons in the top flight of English football between 1967 and 2001.

The Sky Blues most famous day was in 1987 when they beat Spurs 3–2 to win the FA Cup, that classic match is listed by the FA as one of the 12 greatest ever FA Cup Finals.
